BMW: Annual accounts press conference

BMW Group earned a net profit of euro330 million for 2008. This is a steep drop of nearly 90 %, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG Norbert Reithofer said at the annual accounts press conference on March 18, 2009. The BMW Group sold a total of 1, 439 918 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand cars, 6.6 % down on the previous top year 2007. At the same time the group earnings were the second best in the history of the company. BMW does not expect increasing growth rates before 2010, when new models will be launched.
