The Audi A3 TDI with Clean Diesel technology was chosen as the most eco-friendly vehicles at the Los Angeles Motor Show. The Audi TDI established itself against powerful competitors of eco-friendly cars with hybrid and diesel drives and reduced emissions. It is the second time that a diesel car can win this desirable award, which has been conferred for the fifth time. The Audi A3 TDI offers everything which is important for our evaluation, said Ron Cogan, who issues the Green Car Journal is the chief editor of GreenCar.com As a luxurious mid-range car the A3 TDI consumes only impressive 5.6 litres of diesel per 100 km (50 miles per gallon) on the motorway. That is an improvement of 50% compared to the petrol version. Moreover, the quiet and clean diesel engine of the A3 provides much torque at a low rotational speed, and much fun at driving. At the same time the saloon car provides five full-value seats. As a luxurious mid-range car the A3 TDI consumes only impressive 5.6 litres of diesel per 100 km (50 miles per gallon) on the motorway.
