We were to drive Volkswagen's new family van, the Sharan. 4.85 meters long which is exactly 22 centimetres longer than the predecessor but 30 kilos less in weight. It offers up to seven seats and up to 2,430 litres load capacity. Equipped with start-stop-system and recuperation and a 140 PS (103 kW) turbo-diesel it sets benchmarks in its segment.
